Real Life Stories That Change Lives

Harold Mayaba

Broadcast: Thursday 12.30pm
Language: English
Category: Culture, Personal Development

Harold Mayaba was born and raised in the southern province of Zambia. His mother was just 14 years old, and his father was nineteen when he was born. His grandparents, who lived in a small village, took over the parenting role immediately after he was weaned.

Harold’s upbringing was a struggle; he describes it as “natural military training.” Things got worse after his grandparents died, and he moved from one home to another, sometimes walking in the dark, not knowing where to spend the night. While experiencing a tough life, not having a fixed abode, occasionally being homeless, and struggling to find food, Harold only had one goal: to complete his education and get a job. He needed a place to call home and food, but finding school fees was another huge challenge. Amidst all life’s challenges, through resilience and the spirit of ‘NEVER GIVE UP,’ Harold overcame all obstacles to complete high school and pressed on to a Ph.D. level.

Harold is an entrepreneur doing business as a director of Ch. Mayaba Transport Ltd, and abroad as a C.E.O. and founder of TRADEit Zambia. He is a qualified market researcher, a motivational speaker, and a life coach. Harold tells his own real-life journey stories to give hope to the hopeless. His stories positively impact personal lives and businesses, and he prides himself on helping people discover who they are. He harnesses the power of pain and sets higher goals; through determination and resilience, he gets it done!
